House Remodel

Friends and Family...I finally have pictures to post showing what some would describe as progress.   In the beginning, we were going to keep the orange Terra Cotta tiles.  We went back and forth trying to justify ways we would like it.  In the end, we decided it had to go.  One would think removing tile is not too terribly difficult.  Wrong.  It has been a grueling process.  Luckily, our contractor (a family friend) has had people to come do this for us.  We are basically removing every floor surface except bathrooms.  I will describe below each picture exactly what you are seeing.

 This one show when you first walk in the front door.  You are looking at a living room.  The sliders lead out to the back patio/pool area.  This will all be wood floors and new paint. We envision this room as our "After the kids go to bed" tv room!  We will see if it stays that way.

 This is the master bedroom.  You can see the thin set that has not been so "thin" set!  Haha.  The tile guy has had a really hard time in the bedrooms.  

 This picture is of our dining room.  When you walk in the front door, it is to your left.  There will be wood floors and new paint.  Eventually I would like a french door leading out to the front patio area.

 Here is the kitchen.  At the bottom of the picture you can see the layout of where their pantry used to be located.  Dad took that out!  We will be adding can lights and paint.  Eventually, we will move the island to other side of that support post and add new countertops, appliances, and cabinets.  

 This picture shows the family room.  We are painting the wood wall.  We are removing the wood beams and resurfacing the fireplace in tile with a mantle.  To the right in this picture is the kitchen.  

 This is from the doorway leading to the girls' rooms.  It shows another view of the kitchen.  Looks kid friendly, right?

 I wanted to show the grueling tile removalp process.  This shows how thick it is.  This is in Brylie's room.  We will be replacing that slider with a window and window seat.  

 This is from the hallway leading to the office looking in to the family room and kitchen area.  It will all be new floors and paint.  

Of course, we have our pool area!  It has a new child fence...yay for safety!  

All in all, it's a work in progress.  I will show you a video in the next post.  It is a video walk-through of the house.  :)  We are getting the house ready for visitors!!!
